Cabo Pulmo is home to one of maybe three coral reefs on the Pacific
side of North America. It's in the Sea of Cortez near a very small
"Old Mexico" desert town at the end of a six mile dirt road two hours
from Cabo San Lucas. Dove there last weekend with Lands End Divers out
of Cabo San Lucas. Vis was 100 ft. Depth at El Bajo dive site was 50
ft. max. Drift dives in light curent. Water temp. was 82 at the
surface and 80 at depth. Best sea life I've ever dived in. Thousands
of fish - everything on the local recognition card except no
hammerheads or mantas the day we went. Sometimes whale sharks are
there, but we were not lucky. Lots of eels, green morays, zebra, and
garden eels sticking out of the sand. Large lobster in one of the
crevices too. This dive site must be one of the very best in the world.
