I am considering spending several days during the Christmas holidays
diving from a liveaboard in the Komodo Island (Indonesia) region. Does
anyone have any comments or suggestions for me? Thanks.

Know a few people who have dived off Mermaid II out of Bali on
Flores/komodo trips.  Generally good things to say.  MV Pelagian is
mean't to be very plush but expensive, also first hand reports of good
things.

Hi, I was on the Kararu and the Komodo Dancer and would recomend both,
but I perfer the Kararu -they allowed alot more freedom for bottom times
and if you were photo /video  diver -they   provided room/time to set up
of course I was on  the Kararu  for 2 week trip so we dove the prime
sites several times.
The Dancer- was only a 7 day trip and did restrict your bottom time to
an hour and only did one  prime site twice the rest only one dive .
If you go to Komodo area =the water temp is colder 72-75 - he other
sites 77-79 .
The diving is awesome- from critters to  mantas and sharks, nite dives
are a must as well.
Hope this helps, sara

I did a 16 day live-aboard with Grand Komodo Tours last year and was
vary pleased with their boats and crews http://www.komodoalordive.com/
.  One week was in the Alor/ Flores area then one week in and around
Komodo. Some of the best diving I have personal done. Go for it. dawhale
