I know the vast majority of you could care less, and that some lifelong NHL
fans are no longer interested in the league, but I am quite ecstatic that
NHL hockey will be back in my town this coming Fall!!
Ya think they'll lower our season ticket prices now that they have "cost
certainty"?
Nah, I didn't think so either :^)

Lower? Where did you get that idea? More like raise them for the
"new" product.

Well, the "new product" is supposed to be ten games shorter, so five less
home games, and I would think five less home games to pay for. But somehow I
don't think they are too worried about the paying customer :^)

I'm sure that late in the season they'll have "Preparation H" night.
A free tube to the first 1000 fans. As a way of easing the pain from
the reaming you'll get.
Me? I watched some good CHL this last season. What they lack in
skill they make up in blood and guts.

I spent last season over at Magnus Arena watching the Denver Pioneers
(national champs you know :^). But I have to admit that to see individual
supreme skill levels you have to go to the NHL. You just won't see, in the
case of Denver...a Sakic, Forsberg, Hejduk, Blake, Foote etc anywhere but in
the NHL. The NHL has to get on board and realize that is all they have going
for them...the stars. People don't want to see skill/speed sacrificed for
parity.
This coming season I have decided to keep my DU tickets and keep my Av's
tickets. It's up in the air whether or not my wife will keep me!

After watching the NBA finals with my son one night, after watching numerous
fouls called for "touching" someone; out of the blue he says, "Dad, I really
miss hockey...you know, where you can actually HIT somebody and its part of
the game".

Its what those of use without dry suits do when the water gets solid.
Some have even been known to make the water solid so they couldn't dive
and had to play hockey.

Hockey fan 1: Did you hear the NHL finally came to an agreement and
there will be hockey again?
Hockey fan #2: Really, what is it?
Hockey fan #1: It is a game played on ice with sticks and a puck

When the mommy and the daddy love each other a whole lot, they get
together, have a few drinks and puck.

In Denver we're too dumb to get all upset over the lost season. The Av's
have retained more than 98% of their season ticket holders. Most folks here,
at least the true hockey fan, are pretty anxious to get going again. I
always thought one lost season wouldn't be too bad for the league, but
another whole or partial lost season might just kill half the markets the
league is located in. Heck, half the markets didn't care when the league was
playing :^)
