Well, there is a Dive Locations article on Wikipedia
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diving_locations) but it could use some
work. This is the only attempt at a "comprehensive" listing I've seen
lately.

I could use a LOT of work.
The Pacific main list ain't too bad.
But not a single dive site was mentioned in any of the French
Polynesian island groups. I've dived on probably 20 of the islands
in four different island groups there. All FABULOUS dive sites and
dives. NOT EASY to access -- like the upper Keys <G>, and that's
why not many divers know about them other than Rangiroa (in Tuamotu)
and Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora in the Society Islands.
