Weee!

Have fun, it's a great country!

If you're interested in scientific and ecological background as well as
in good dives and an overall friendly experience, check out the Undersea
Explorer (http://www.undersea-explorer.com).

We were there a couple of years ago and it was big fun, with interesting
informations. The crew were very friendly and helpful, the food was
incredibly good, and the dives fantastic. If you are somewhat
experienced in diving, go for it. Recent divers may have the problem of
not being guided around and overall of being given information on a
moderately experienced level.

Whatever you do, enjoy Australia, I know we did!

Thanks for the tip..

They look great, but unfortunately their trip schedule doesn't work
out...something for the files for next time!!

(BTW - you have to take the "-" out of the web link..with the "-" you go to
a semi-submersible tourist site!)

Hi,
About two years ago I had the great fortune to sample several live
abords in Australia.  Here are my recommendations:

1.  Maldives live aboard: Mantiri: AWESOME!!!!
OK, it's not Austraila, but I saw it was listed
somewhere below... I would go back to the Maldives
in the drop of a hat!
highly advanced diving!! Extremely high currents
are on nearly every single dive... FUN, but you have
to be able to handle yourself... and make sure you
have a HUGE safety sausage! (more tips if needed)
Manthiri crew was unbelievable!!

2. Mike Ball: Papua New Guinea:
Really unique small critters and muck diving
marvelous cultural experience (but read
state department warnings about Port Moresby...don't
go in town there, just transfer at airport to next
airplane).  On one dive several of us floated
over 3 demon stingers with FIVE lionfish hovering
only inches above them! amazing(and dangerous!)

3. Mike Ball: Coral Sea exploration
highly excellent ship, excellent crew, fun,
beautiful sites, a great time had by all I believe
and some memorable dives: DONT MISS
the YONGALA wreck!! Incredible!! We got to dive
TWO WHOLE days on that wreck... includiing night
dives with ripping currents (better hold the line
on the ship mate or we won't find you in the dark!)
Yongola alone is worth the week's trip... assuming
the weather holds out for you.
