Does anyone know if there is any dive shop/diving on Vieques. We are
going in April for a week, and I would like to know whether it is
worth bringing my gear.
I've heard day trips to Culebra can be arranged from Vieques. Any
experience with that?
Thanks in advance.

A guy in my Scuba club has a place on Vieques and does dive there, but he
mostly talks about shore diving. He likes the diving, but I don't know what
support services there are on the island. If I come across him in the near
future I will ask and try to pass on the info.

But then again, what do I know?

I had heard that there was not a dive shop on Vieques when I was in
Puerto Rico last May. I stayed on Culebra and dove with these people
http://culebradivers.com/ and had a great week. The diving is worth
bringing your gear. Perhaps they could arrange to pick you up if there
is still not a shop on Vieques.

Ken, I called Blue Caribe Dive Center (I dive with them in Vieques
during the summer of 2002) and they informed me they were no longer
offering dive trips, however, they gave a name and a telephone number
of an individual who is offering dive trips. His name is Chiper and his
telephone number 7877413224.
Good Luck!
Harry.
P.S.: If you spend any time on the main island (Puerto Rico) I do
recommend Parguera Divers. I have been diving with them since 1998 and
are an outstanding operation. They have a website:
