im in the air force, so i will be in the surrounding area of McGuire AFB.
id like to meddle in all i can, expand on what i like most. just seeing if
anyone was willing to divulge any good lobster spots ;-). or any wreck
dives that would be good for a first timer to explore.. that wont be all
eroded away or somehting.
thanks for all the info

Figure an hour's drive from some of the areas mentioned, unless you're
going to live off base.
BTW, be aware that some of the local police in that area have had a bad
reputation for being real sticklers on local speed limits.

If you don't already have a dry suit, then you're probably going to wait
until the waters off NJ get pretty warm, which means you have plenty of
time to get regional info sorted out. FYI, there's also a couple of
freshwater quarries that are good for warmup dives that are also not too
far away either: Dutch Springs & Willow Springs in PA:
www.dutchsprings.com
www.willowspringspark.com
There's also Round Valley Reservoir in Clinton, NJ, but I'd say its
probably not worth the drive from Southern NJ.

i am planning to live off base. not really worried about drives... up here
in AK i drive 400 miles one way to go to a mall on the weekend. (fairbanks
to anchorage)
the speeding thing will take some getting used to... i do have a small 400lb
lead foot.
im looking to buy a wet suit sometime soon, i will need it to dive up here
this summer, and the way i understand it it will greatly expand diving
opportunities down there.
thanks for the info about the quarries. ill definitly look into that.
