More like a sunshower.
"The Royal Cayman Islands Police said that there were no injuries following
the earthquake, but a number of large holes in the ground have been reported
at different places around Grand Cayman, including at Seven Mile Public
Beach, where four large holes had appeared overnight, each one between four
and seven feet across, and between four and six feet deep, according to
groundwork contractors who were working nearby.
Eric Rivers, a charter boat captain, was on board a vessel in the Marina,
when he saw the surge that the earthquake created. He estimated it was over
one and a half feet high. "I felt the surge coming when I jumped aboard a
friend's vessel. It washed all of the boats in the canal around. You could
really feel the surge from the earthquake even on the boat," he said.
Interesting story to be sure. Also a bit amusing to hear about the great
Cayman earthquake that disturbed some sand on the beach and battered the
island with a 1.5 foot ripple.
