Compared to where? It's far better than most lakes in the midwestern
US, but not nearly as good as St. Lucia.

Not.

I'll be in Barbados on Nov 2.  That's why I'll not be diving there
even though I'll have all my dive gears with me.  :-)

I did a groups.googles.com advanced search using ONLY
"Barbados" as keyword, and "Reef Fish" as author, and google
found 18 threads in which I posted about Barbados, several of
them comparing it with other dive locations.

Why not?

Because Feesh feels that only the "finest" things in life worth his
time. Barbados diving isn't up to his "standards." When one is as
impressed with ones self as Bob is, one has to keep up appearances you
know.

Alan, since when have you been hired as a spokesman for me?

Earlier, I had already followed up Alan's rather useless comment of

with this, pointing interested readers to what I had already
posted about Barbados, compared to some other locations:

Alan, if you have something useful or glowing to say about Barbados
other than it's better than most lakes in the midwestern US, say
so, by all means.

Do try to make a nuisance of yourself by posting crap such as
what you've posted, to remove any doubt that you're nothing but
an ignoranmus and an ankle-biter.

You see, Feesh, that's a fundamental difference between us. You prefer
to do a massive data dump, as much to show off as to convey
information, while I prefer to put some constraints around my
information, tailoring it to more concisely answer a posters question.

The OP asked a very broad question, and the very first thing I asked
was, "compared to where?" If the OP has only dove in NE quarries, then
he's going to find the warm water and decent visibility of Barbados a
treat, regardless of what more experienced divers think. On the other
hand, if he's spent some time in some of the world's better dive spots,
he might be dissapointed in the relatively boring reefs of Barbados.
Finally, if he likes wrecks, then the Stavronikita is an unusual dive
for the Caribbean and worth diving on it's owm merits.

Again, one man's treat is another man's poison. I asked a clarifying
question before deluging the OP with my opinions.

Aw, Feesh, you say the nicest things :-)

I'm like that too.  If I've been somewhere, and didn't like it, I am
not going back.  Or, if I've been somewhere and didn't like the
diving, if I was going back for another reason, I wouldn't bring my
dive gear.

The Stavronikita is well worth a dive or two.

Probably so, for wreck-diving fans.  It's considered to be one of the
top 10 wrecks in the Caribbean, lying between 70-140 fsw.

Unfortunately, I am not a wreck diving fan, and the wreck dive (First
Bay Wreck) I did with Dive Boat Safari was rather forgettable.
