We are looking for a dive destination for a 50th wedding anniversary
celebration. The wife and husband are both in their late 60's and
both have modest dive experience over the past dozen years (40 - 50
dives in St. Lucia, Maui, and northeastern US shore locations, lakes
and quarries).
The diving should offer interesting marine life but be fairly easy:
100 feet or less, good visibility, water temperatures 55 or above, no
long surface swims, no severe current, etc. The couple is slowing
down a little and the wife has a bad shoulder. Ideally, the dive
staff should be geared to provide maximum support with lots of hand
holding and TLC.
About half of the guests will be divers. There will be some who will
snorkel but not dive. Some will be non-divers and the ideal location
for the celebration would have some attractive sights and activities
for them as well. Destinations that are very hard to reach and
require flights of 15 hours or more with multiple connections would be
a minus, but would not necessarily be completely disqualifying.
We would appreciate any ideas.

If your budget is very generous and you have the leadtime to arrange it,
you could see about doing a semi-custom itinerary in the Galapagos.
Skip the long trip out to Wolf/Darwin and do some of the shallower dives
around Puerto Ayora (sic)...several beaches have good snorkeling, and
the critters topside are generally entertaining for anyone.
