I will spend one week on Kohala Coast in a resort with a dive shop on site.
There are many dive operators south of the resort all the way to Kailua
Kona. Any dive operator recommendations?

I'll second that. It's like diving with friends and family. The
only thing you can say against them is that they're not terribly
supportive of techies, but then they don't claim to be. They're the
only operator on the big island I use (Other than for tech stuff), and
I'll be diving with them just about 1 month from today. Which can't
come soon enough. =B^)

I highly recommend Aloha Dive Company. I dove with them in March and
will again in September. http://www.alohadive.com
