Yeah....it used to be the Sol Caribe. Became the Park Royal about 5 years ago
when it went timeshare. I first stayed in it in the early early 80s when
Sheraton owned it. It was crap then. I have a timeshare across the street at
La Ceiba and every time I walk past the entrance to Park Royal the
street-hawker offers me the world to go look at it. Big pool with bar. Not on
the beach, but as the ad says, there is access to it. The "beach" is a very
small lagoon that opens up into the ocean. No dock, so if you're diving,
you'll have to have someone pick you up at La Ceiba or Del Mar Aquatics' docks.
Plus, you'll need a place to lock your stuff up unless you don't mind
schlepping it back and forth. It's a 5 buck cab ride into town and a 40 minute
walk back so you can work off the food and drink. If it's your first shot at
CZM, write me directly and I'll be glad to give you some feedback. I'm on my
25th year down there. I certainly don't know it all....but I know a whole bunch
of it.

That's what I thought it might be when I saw the picture. On my 1st
trip to Cozumel, (1989), I stayed next door, at the Casa Del Mar. Had
a great time. All we had to do was cross the street to catch the dive
boat. Also, if we wanted to dive the airplane, once again, all we had
to do was cross the street.
There were a couple of restaurants in the area, but we also went into
town a few times. Either a 2 buck cab ride or 40 minute walk.
