I have an annual travel Insurance policy with:
http://www.tpstravelinsurance.com/Splash.asp
This cover includes Scuba diving to 30m.

Somebody also pointed me at this Insurance supplier who cover you
within the limits of your qualifications:
http://www.direct-travel.co.uk/Index.asp

Both web sites will give you on-line quotes for single/annual
policies.

Regards

David

PS Why pick on rec.suba rather than uk.rec.scuba as you have a .uk
email address?

Hi.
Being a newbie, this question has been on my mind for a while, and I fine
that the "Divers Alert Network" is the solution for my teenage-son and
myself :

Basic insurance is ? 65,-being about U$D 60-70,- /year

It appears to be the solution for most of us.

Nor for divers going to Cuba apparently. I was just reading about
that. I guess it will become an issue for me if I decide to try Cuba
for a dive holiday.

f.ck Cuba (at least 'till Fidel is finally dead).

Do Agamemnon in winter.

All that clear, warm water diving is pale in comparison.

Sounds like jealousy to me.. Cuba has great diving, been there twice.

How many times you done Agamemnon?

Taketh the beam from thine eye, brah.

I've done the clear, warm and blue too.

Pale in comparison.

I've dove around Vancouver Island and Quadra Island.  I prefer the
tropics myself, but, everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

America is the home of the free, except if they want to go to Cuba.
Then it has to be the home of the sneaky.

Where did you dive there, Dan?  I've heard that diving isn't all that
great.  I haven't had the chance to go... yet.

First trip was near Santiago.  Had excellent snorkelling and pretty
good diving.  Second time was Isle of Youth.  Trip report available

Thanks for the info and trip report.  Sounded like a lot of early
hours.  Which one did you prefer?

Were there a lot of beaches at the Isle of Youth?  My SO doesn't dive
but she loves waking beaches.

There is a very nice beach at the El Colony Hotel.  There is also a
very nice beach at your dive site.  You can rent scooters from the
hotel and probably get there.  I'm not sure that this is true because
I didn't actually try it.  However, all those merchants that showed up
on cruise ship day got there via land, so it must be possible.

Maybe.  But it's still warm.
