Democrats have been pounding John McCain for his ties to big oil, even
setting up a mock website called ExxonMcCain 08. But it turns out that
Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama has actually received
more money from Exxon employees than McCain, according to analysis by
the Center for Responsive Politics.
And today, Pres Obama began his payoff. Exxon hires almost 8,000 new
employees each year, and Obama has promised Exxon a tax break for each
of those new hires.
Millions for Exxon, main street gets f.cked again.

But at least it's a Democrat doing the f.cking. That means Main
Street at least gets sloppy seconds, instead of having to pay to watch
it on video.

I was curious. Even though I'm Canadian, I'm catching a few sound bites on
the US election.
I did hear that Obama wants to offer tax breaks for companies that hire new
employees. At the time that I heard, I wondered if he meant new employees
in new positions?
After all, when Exxon hires almost 8,000 new employees each year, are they
1) hiring new persons to fill positions that had been left? 2) creating new
positions? 3) are the 8,000 new employees all in the United States or
worldwide? If #3, I'm sure that Obama didn't mean to give Exxon a tax break
for those, ;^)
I also wondered what he meant by a "tax break"? Has he really thought out
the plan?
For example, a small company like Greg's . . . what is his company's tax
break if he hires 3 persons for 3 NEW positions in the next year?

Does anyone really listen to all the plans that the candidates
propose? I don't bother. No one ever gets any of these big ideas
done, certainly not in the same way they propose in pre-election
speeches and debates. I'm voting for Obama because he probably has
better taste in music, just like Bill Clinton. Republicans only get
the support of country-western bands and Ted Nugent, so I'd never vote
for any of those losers.

I'd rather get a tax break for firing them.

Of course a fuckwit like you is incapable of comprehending the
difference between low-level Exxon employees and Exxon executives.
Working class Exxon employees want Obama to win.

Of course a fuckwit like you is incapable of comprehending the fact that
campaign gift limits require that low-level employees serve as the
funnel for executives.
Been there.
Done that.

McCain has still pocketed more oil industry cash: $1.3 million, to
Obama’s $394,000.
