Hi. I'm looking to do a 7 day liveaboard sometime in March, but not sure
what's available and what they are like?

I'm on a bit of a tight budget as well, about ?700. Would I be better off
just doing day dives from somewhere like sharm? Am I going to get much
better diving from a liveaboard?

And finally, the only equipment I have is fins and mask....is it possible to
hire equipment on liveaoards? What's the typical cost?

Thanks for any help,

Luke

You will probably get better diving from a liveaboard then shore based
diving (shore based is still okay in Sharm and most other places)
You should be able to rent gear but specify when booking what gear you
need and ask for a gear package. You'll probably be asked for a
refundable deposit on the rented stuff.
Concening prices, without wanting to appear too cynical or ghoulish,
if tourism drops after Saturday's air disaster in Sharm el Sheikh
prices will probably come down.
One final thing you should ask on uk.rec.scuba as more people there
will have info about diving in Egypt than here.
