I have a dog that loves to dive to the bottom of our 9 foot pool. Does
anyone know the record for the deepest free breath dive for a dog?

That might be it.
Do you put dog toys on the bottom for him to fetch, or does he just
like to sniff the bottom of the ladder?

Never use a big word when a diminutive one will do.

Mine brings me lobsters from 27' deep. She tried to hit 30 but she had
problems clearing her ears with her paws....
Actually... as a kid I remember a lab who would try to fetch rocks
thrown into the water but I bet she never hit 3'.
Got a You-Tube video you can share???

My Buddy (he's the one of the right,

regularly goes about 2-3 feet for sticks. But, he's never tried
diving deeper than that nor has he had the opportunity.
