Douglas W. "Popeye" Frederick - 22 Jan 2008 04:12 GMT Riddle me this;
Since about the end of the century, I haven't been able to see Dan Bracuk's posts.
And just recently, I can't see Dennis's posts.
I got Windows Mail through Supernews.
What's up with that?
Is this some Dark Side Of The Force plot?
Microscopic Chinese Communists?
What?

Dan seems to post from two different computers. Posts from one of them don't seem to make it. Posts from the other one do. Most of the time, he seems to be using the one that doesn't make it.
> And just recently, I can't see Dennis's posts. I hadn't noticed that, yet.

Thanks.
The only two a.sholes in there are carl and Eric, but maybe I drilled someone by mistake.

If you've only got two entries, then it's more likely on the SuperNews side and, as far as I know, there's nothing you can do about that except change providers.
I don't know anything about Windows Mail, but if it's anything like Outlook Express (OE), the rules stuff will be listed in a tools menu.
In OE, I'd go to Tools --> Message Rules --> Blocked Senders and then check the list for anything that looked like it might be Dennis and/or Dan. I might do the same with Tools --> Message Rules --> News Rules, if the blocked senders option didn't fix the issue, but that list is probably empty for you.

It probably wouldn't hurt if others sent inquiries as well. I sent mine to mailto:abuse@supernews.com - I asked why Dan's postings don't appear in the Supernews feed, and I included a copy of the headers from one of Dan's postings via pathcom, which I got from Google Groups.
I also see that Dennis' posts aren't making through Supernews, either. Looking at the headers, it doesn't look like Dan and Dennis have much in common (at least not in that respect!).
If - and that might be a large IF - I do get through to a knowledgeable person at Supernews, I'll pursue both of these cases. But I can't put in a lot of time in the near term. I'll be busy with work next week and I'm on vacation (yes, a DIVING vacation) the week after.

Both Dan's and Dennis' postings are going through "usenetserver.com" on the way to Google. This may be a factor.

But I never had a problem with my carets going away until recently. Now I notice that you and some others lose my carets when replying to my posts. As this one does not.
Signature Does anybody here really think that taking away the guns will stop killing? Or knives, or icepicks, or chains, or ropes, or baseball bats, or poisons, or cars & trucks. People are gonna kill people, and they'll always think of a new weapon if you take away the old ones. And just because I carry a potential weapon doesn't mean I intend to commit murder, or that I may be tempted to commit murder. I often carry a big ugly knife. Lots of my friends do too. I have never heard of anyone being tempted to use the knife on anyone just because they have it with them. You gotta be in the mood to do the killing and you use what's at hand. -Jeff Cooper
