His grandparents were from Yorkshire, NZ is a British Commonwealth country. And there is the small bit that he was part of a BRITISH expedition, led by a BRITON - John Hunt Had the first assault team (BRITS) not failed just short of the summit, nobody would have ever heard of Hillary!
