Man Killed By Alligator At Indian Reservation
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. A man who allegedly was fleeing police was attacked
and killed by an alligator in a pond. Miccosukee police, assisted by
Sweetwater canine units, responded to a call on the Miccosukee Indian
Reservation about vehicles being broken into. Police captured one man, but
another fled on foot and dove into a retention pond. Signs warned of the
danger of live alligators in the pond behind the casino and hotel.
Eyewitnesses said they were shouting to the man to swim back to shore. When
the man finally spotted the alligator, they say he screamed but then
disappeared under the water. The body was recovered Friday by divers 50 feet
below at the bottom of the lake. He was bitten on the head several times.
The alligator and another smaller one were later trapped and brought to All
American Gator in Pembroke Park for inspection by the Miami-Dade medical
examiner.

A clear cut case of deadly force applied to a crime that did not justify it.
Greg will be along any minute now to tell us how all alligators should be
banned. JOF may beat him to it.

I think alligators are already banned in Canada.

actually they are availible but with strict licensing from the goverement,
so I was wrong to say they are banned

Yeah, but ya'll get salt water crocs... Don't make as nice of luggage, but

nice leather(?) if you get them early, 2 to 3 years old, and use the
underbelly apparently. Well this was according to a bloke at a croc farm up
in Broome I went to. I agree that seeing a 5 or 6 m salty basking on the
bank does put you off having a swim, although you do see them off the
swimming beaches in Darwin.
We had a death up in the N Territory yesterday from an animal attack not a
salty a jellyfish got the poor kid

Yeah. Ocean Navigator has about 4 reports a year of "yachtsmen"
(those of us who sail for fun) taking a swim and being taken.
When we were in Oz, we went by a smallish wildlife park outside Sydney
(Featherstone's or something like that). They had a roughly 6 metre
crock. If I should fall in the water, I WILL BECOME JESUS AND WALK TO
LAND.

Detachable magazines and bayonet lugs, right?

And removable flash suppressors.
Speaking of which, I bought a TTi recoil eliminator for my competition AR
the other day. I've not yet had a chance to take it to the range. It was
rated number 1 for recoil reduction and number 2 for muzzle flip control in
a recent Front Sight (USPSA magazine) article. I can hardly wait to try it
out. The design, however, suggests it will be unpleasantly loud for anyone
to my right or left.

I had a guy who was a bud of a bud light off an 870 Wingmaster about 20"
from my left ear while hunting chuckars.
Guy was from Kalifornia.
He has a much better understanding of "muzzle discipline" now.

You can't ear on your left side, he has to eat through a straw. Fair

Actually, I waited until he was about 300 yards away and then lightly
peppered him with birdshot.
From the hip.

Give the gator a medal and another meal... our recent cop killer in SFL.
Maybe that would be a deterrent... sentencing killers to "death by
gator".
(Sorry to offend the Canuks since many of them on on their way to FL to
give us their money and avoid the cold)

I got as far as "jumped over the fence" when Carol said "and a gator
got him".
Crooks are so predictable.
