Any special precautions needed before I leave for Belize from the States?
The CDC Web site mentions Malaria a lot.

I'd pay attention to the CDC website. Although, as has been mentioned in a recent
thread, the danger is minimized if you're not going into the jungle interiors but staying
on the water on a liveaboard. If you have any concerns, I'd do what CDC says.

Are you going inland?  If you are just staying at Ambergris Caye, you don't
need to worry about it unless you are an abundance of caution type guy.  Oh
wait . . .

Get your HepA&B and tetanus shots.  Bring lots of bug spray.

Properly done, the HBV shots take six months.

True enough, but you get some measure of protection from the first shot.
IMNSHO, it would be an unfortunate choice, to not get the shots because of a
mindset that one doesn't have time for the series before going away, so why
bother.

Yeah.  For me I needed the full series before I could apply.

Hep A is probably the more important one, as you have a lot more
exposure to it, since you can get that one from a sneeze or a door
handle or (chortle) a toilet seat.

It's OK, not making contact helps work the thigh and calf muscles for
diving...

But the altitude increses the impact velocity and energy, which
increses the chances of the dread splash back.

I think we should just start a keyboard buying club.  Too damn many
being bought around here.

To go with the beer club.  And, if it's before 6 am, coffee.

Or, for the all-in-one, Buzz Beer.
