Hi All

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about Scuba diving software
that they would like on their computer (as I am looking for a fun
project to combine my interests of Scuba Diving and Computer
Programming). It could be anything from a Dive Log to a 3D mapping
tool or simulation of a Scuba area. Anyone got any thoughts?

Cheers

Kulgan.

I'm a programmer myself so how big can we dream? Some of these are obvious

1) Dive planning

2) Dive Log

3) Tie the Dive and log to a mapping application so that clicking on the
dive brings up a map and additional data. How about tying all our diving to
real time weather for that area?

4) Gear service history and remarks

5) Ability to not only view the dive on the map but add entry and exit
locations and routes, possible have the ability to share these with other
divers.

I want Pocket PC software than will allow me to interface my Citizen
Hyperaqualand watch with my Windows Mobile based PDA and that will up load
the results to Aquagraph on my desktop computer when I return home.

I want the same for my Nitek He dive computer.

And while we're at it, the software need to have the capability to
specify preferred beers and display the nearby stores that handle
those beers and their prices...

Displaying nearby places where you can get air fills would also be
nice...

Hi Kulgan,

perhaps we should talk?

While we already have a very basic online logbook at scubish.com, I am
very interested in improving this feature and integrating it better
into the site.

A lot of the ideas that have been mentioned in this thread (like link
to dive locations, weather information, mapping) is also very high on
my wishlist.

OF course there no money, but perhaps some glory. (we are currently
getting about 1500 vistiors per day and grow pretty fast)

Let me know if this is something you would be interested in and we
figure something out.

Matthias
