Especially when we all know it was PADI Open Water training that did him.

What page of the PADI manual discusses the risks of lightening strikes while
in the water?

Popeye's point exactly. If it was in the manual, he would have
learned it and would still be alive today.

Nah, Popeye's the one more often defending the adequacy of their training
programs. I'm the one that's usually critical of them.
This one, however, exceeds what I would have expected from either agency.
I'll bet, however, it shows up in some agency's training soon. Much as I
hate to say it, my bet is that PADI will get it out first.

He obviously missed the "lightning rod up you're buddy's butt" module.

That's OK. I don't remember it my SSI, NAUI or TDI courses either. I pay
attention to lightening, but have always felt safer in the water than in the
boat. This sheds a whole new light on the risk.

LMFAO
I just completed my PADI open water on that same spot just two long
weeks, and ten dives ago.... Glad I went to the keys this weekend.

Jeez, only two posts before PADI takes a hit.

Why ask us, it was the Medical Examiner's decision.
