Snorkeling and SCUBA in Hawaii....

So, I'm finally going to visit with the brother, sis-in-law, and kids in
Hawaii.  Oh, the wife is going with me, too.

Anyways.  I'm a diver, although I *know* I need some form of a refresher
course before I'll strap on tanks and such, so I'm primarily looking to
go snorkeling in Hawaii a couple times.  Probably just going in from the
beach.

Any suggestions on where to do this, on the isle of Oahu?

Also, would going through a "resort course" for diving seem like a
quick, (sort of) cheap refresher?  If so, I might dig one up while we're
there.

Thanks,
Jason

If you are at an all inclusive and it's included, sounds great.
Otherwise it might not be cheap.

Staying at the brothers place.

So I'd have to shop around for a course, and pay.

Just grab your gear and go jump in the water... It'll come back to you
quick enough...

Connect the regulator to the tank?  Damn, I forgot that part.  Now
what were you saying, St Pete?

Like I said, it'll come back to you quick enough...

If not, don't worry, Darwin will be there to protect you...

I'd rather not end up a Darwin Award Nominee....

I can do plenty of other life-threatening things...

Crossing the street, saying another woman looks good in front of the
wife, that sort of thing...
;-)

As it is, the wife and I have decided, for now, to just go snorkeling.
The dive shop we bought her a pair of fins at (she has a mask /
snorkel), offers a refresher course fairly inexpensive, so next year
I'll probably take their refresher, and see about getting the wife
certified, too...

Thanks all!

Oh well... No guts, no glory...

I could always see how deep I could get, or jump in with whales while
out snorkeling....

See if I could get mistaken for a giant krill...

There's only one or two AIs in Hawai'i, and they aren't cheap.  They
aren't even expensive.
