I just wanted to share the news! I am going on my first night dive
tomorrow evening and I am very excited! I will be with my instructor,
my sweetheart, & some of my OW class will be joining as well.
Do you all have any suggestions, advice, words of wisdom, or
experiences you would share with me about night diving?

Where are you diving?

1. The most dangerous sharks are the ones creeping from
behind, in your mind.
2. You should use a towel before going to sleep.

I'd suggest a dive light.  The water will put the flame out.

Broadway Photo sucks.  Ask me why.

I was thinking of a female singer, so if the dive is cancelled you still
have something to do..

Just make sure she's kitted up, or she'll look like Kim Bassinger in
that great Tom Petty video (probably her best role).

Suggestions depend somewhat on conditions. Here are a few.
1. Relax and enjoy the dive. Night diving can be spectacular.
2. Pay attention to small stuff on or near the bottom. Watch particularly
for eyes that reflect your light back at you. If you look, you're likely to
see things you'll never see during a daytime dive.
3. If the moon is out, consider turning your lights out and spending a few
minutes diving without it. You'd be surprised at how well you can see by
moonlight and how different it is from either day or lighted night diving.
4. If you're in warm water, pay attention to what's going on at the business
end of someone else's fins, or yours. Shine your light away from them and
watch for phosphorescent organisms in the wash of the fins. Moving your hand
rapidly through the water can do the same thing.
5. Let us know how you liked it when you're done.

At some point during the dive, everyone turn off their lights.  Check
your vision.  While the lights are off, wave your arm up and down.

Don't eat or eat at least an hour and a half before you dive.
