Last Tuesday marked one year since Carol's surgery.
She'd doing great. Had a mammogram back in May, clean. She goes in
for an MRI later this month.

Congrats, keep it up.
I am really happy for both of you.
Only people who have looked that in the eye know how joyful an anniversary
can be.

It wouldn't be if you and your anti-science religious friends had
their way.

I'm glad to hear it. Seems every other person I know these days is
getting the big C. A good friend of mine's wife has been cancer free
for a couple of years now. A coworker just had successful surgery on
his prostrate a couple of weeks ago and is back to work. A colleague
had his spread to his lymph nodes and is fighting it aggressively with
chemo now. A friend of mine's mother has been given three months to
live as of last night. A former coworker will be passing any week/day
now.
Giver her my best.

Our neighbor was diagnose with brain cancer in June of 2004. At the
time he was told 12 to 18 months. In November MRIs showed no sign of
the tumor, after two surgeries and months of chemo.
Three months ago he had another seizue. It's back, only worse. Now
it's crossed the center. He goes back to MD Anderson this week to
talk to a neurosugeon who thinks he can get it. Then it's more chemo
(more chemo, anyways). We're pulling for November at least. His
oldest daughter gets married on November 10th.
