I actually don't know Richardson, the assistant instructor who did the
actual rescue, but the guy who did the CPR and who was leading the class
was the same guy who I took my basic SCUBA class from.

Great story Jay. Thanks for sharing it. Hope I never have to use my
rescue training, but if I do, I hope I'm as sharp as this guy was.

I've done two rescues (neither this dramatic). If you were well
trained and always think about your environment and what you would do,
it all just kicks in. But you have to "be ready for the unexpected".

Great story, and Richardson did all the right things. I took Rescue
Diving certs a few years ago and hope I never have to use it.

Indeed - a good rescue.
They got one thing wrong though:
Francis and Richardson said the boy didn't know how to swim but his friends
egged him on, persuading him to jump in the water. The boy's male friends
disappeared during the rescue, Richardson said.
They damn sure aren't his friends.

Sounds like they would make good scuba divers to me.

Not really - disappering when your buddy's in trouble is not a good thing.

Von Fourch is just a whore who takes opposing views to piss people
off. Think of him as a semi-intelligent troll. He probably has a
college education and makes decent money.
