Might never of been necessary if the Americans hadn't had their hands
over their eyes until 1941.
Of course, the other date to remember is 31/12/2006 (or should it be
12/31/06) when we finally paid off what we had to borrow to fight the war.

Personally, I look forward to 1/07/2076 when we can be expected to be
debt free after repaying them for the costs of Iraq and Afganistan
(other intervening wars permitting!)

Sure wouldn't have been necessary if the Europeans had responded forcefully
to Hitler's re-occupation of the Rhineland.
Or had attacked after the invasion of Poland, instead of sitting around
waiting......

Well, which is it?
Half of you say we were late, and half of you say we didn't do much, but
obviously you were tits-up either way.
We shouldn't have been involved at all, but left to you, and without our
intervention, we'd have been defending our own Atlantic and Pacific beaches
by 1945.

does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law
