Buffalo are OK. If you get far enough north you'll hit muskoxen. Many
years ago I spent a summer up north - we often ran into trouble with the
oxen going into their defensive posture right on the road. Big circle
of big animals blocking the road (well path, didn't exactly have roads).
Made for slow driving. The mating season was the best though -
apparently during that time the boys think anything their size or bigger
is something they need to fight or f**k - trucks, pumpjacks, tents, you
name it...
