Teen dies after Toronto school shooting
Last Updated: Wednesday, May 23, 2007 | 9:21 PM ET
CBC News
A 15-year-old student has died after being shot at a school in Toronto's
north end on Wednesday, police said.

The boy was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital in critical condition after he was
found at about 2:30 p.m. ET in a hallway of C.W. Jefferys Collegiate
Institute.

A 15-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after a shooting at C.W. Jeffreys
Colligiate Institute.
(CBC)
Toronto police confirmed just before 5 p.m. that the teen had died of a
single gunshot wound.

"It's shocking such a crime could take place in our schools," Chief Bill
Blair told reporters after the shooting.

"It's a very serious matter.. A young student has lost his life in a school,
and that should be a safe environment."

The boy has been identified as Jordan Manners, a Grade 9 student. Police
have not named any suspects or made any arrests.

There were reports of a fight outside the school before the shooter followed
the student inside.

The school on Sentinel Road, near Finch Avenue West and Keele Street, went
into lockdown mode after the shooting.

Students were held in classrooms and the library as police officers combed
the hallways and rooms for evidence and any signs of danger.

Parents gathered outside the school, many crying as they tried to reach
their children inside by cellphone.

"I want to know what happened. My son is inside. He's in Grade 10," one
woman told CBC News, her eyes filled with tears.

"I want to know if someone can say something, if he's OK or no."

At 6 p.m., students were ushered out of the school and boarded onto city
buses, then reunited with their families at a nearby middle school. One girl
was taken to hospital in shock, but there were no other reported injuries.

Family member sobs when told of death

The victim's family congregated at the hospital shortly after the boy
arrived there and one woman sobbed loudly when she heard of the boy's death.
The family was eventually joined by some students from C.W. Jefferys.

There were reports of a fight outside the school before the shooter followed
the student inside at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute in north Toronto
Wednesday afternoon.
(CBC)
The shooting happened near the school's swimming pool and was originally
called in to police as a drowning.

About 850 students attend the school and many have already posted tributes
to the boy who died on the website Facebook.

Shortly after the shooting, Ontario's premier expressed his condolences to
the victim's family.

"I also know I speak for all Ontarians when I condemn and deplore the
violence we've seen here today," Dalton McGuinty said in a written
statement.

"I want the entire community at C.W. Jefferys C.I. to know that they are in
my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time."

Toronto Mayor David Miller said the situation shows the need for stricter
gun control.

He said handguns are too accessible, as people can steal them from
collectors in Toronto or smuggle them into Canada from the United States.

"We have to, I think, make a statement in Canada that handguns are not
acceptable anymore," Miller told CBC News.

To the idea that Greg and the rest of the intellectuals are going to conjur
up some kind of Martian death ray to remove all handguns from planet earth.

This guy is an opportunistic f.cking rocket surgeon.

It's not the handgun, dumbass.

Let's see:

Mayor of Toronto:  graduated Harvard magna cum laude, LLB from U. of
Toronto, mayor of a city of 2.5 million people

vs.

Scott Koplin:  lives in trailer, graduated high school (?), has two
daddies

Hmmm, whose opinion should a reasonable person rely on?  That's a real
tough choice.

Nawh, more like:

Mayor of Toronto:  Canadian

vs.

Scott Koplin:  American

Not a tough choice at all...

Greg Mossman, lying bigot, LA faggot lawyer, exploiter of illegal
immigrants, *perfect* respresentative of the far left, ungrateful socialist
shitheads that are surrendering our nation and hard won freedoms to the
Islamic Fascists. When they finally nuke LA, I hope his house is ground
zero.

I not only graduated high school, got some college (AA degree), but scored
in the 97th percentile on the ASVAB, and served my nation.

I dont live in a trailer, but see nothing wrong with people who do.

I leave that disgusting level of bigotry to the LA snotnosed like Mossman.

College education and wealth are hallmarks of some of the biggest thieving,
lying, worthless pieces of sh.t ever to become criminals (Ken Lay for just
one example). And Mister Bigot his ownself, Greg Mossman.

Thats funny, because he assumes to be seen or held as a "reasonable person".

Another of those "self definition" hallucinations that brand the moonbats.

News flash.

Mossman is as reasonable and sane as Mussolini.

In fact, Mossman would be twice the tyrant Mussolini was; the only thing
keeping him in check is the constitution and guns.

I guess that's where the fear comes from. He cant rule the world with so
many of us law abiding, decent people armed.

I aint trying to be a politician or suck the dicks of the far left socialist
idiots that think the gun was the problem.

The Mayor of Toronto is, and this single incident shows how far wrong they
are, have been and will always be.

I guess these rocket surgeons never heard of a zip gun powered by match
heads.

Outlaw antennae, rubber bands, nails, door hinges and matches.

God I love it when a mere few lines can provoke such a long, head-
spinning, bile-gushing rant.  I haven't lost my touch at all.

Fortunately I don't live in L.A., conveniently residing just outside
the fallout zone, but it's nice to see that you're hoping for a
nuclear terrorist attack against the U.S. in order to further support
your President Monkey's self-made war on "terror".

I bet you score in the 97th percentile of all trailer residents too.
You should be proud.  I bet your daddies are.

Don't forget George W. Bush.  He has a fine college educashun.

It's quite amazing how you blame education for turning people into
criminals, but you'll never blame a gun for killing people.  I bet Ken
Lay owned a gun or two, at least before he became a felon.

> Mossman is as reasonable and sane as Mussolini.

Does that qualify to invoke Godwin's?

Yeah, that and the power.  But when I get elected President . . .

> I guess that's where the fear comes from. He cant rule the world with so

Don't give yourself all the credit.  There are a few other barriers in
my road to World Domination.  But I'm working on it.  First I need my
very own nuke.  Maybe you could help me build one since I'm not
interested in the ugly DIY crap.  I want a nicely machined streamlined
nuke that will impress all the Republicans during the Breaking
Bulletins on Fox News.  In return, I'll name you my Ambassador to
Trailer Land, the new quarantined territory I'm setting up by walling
off certain southern states using the wall that currently separates us
from Mexico.  I'll hire illegals to do the wall relocation so it won't
break our fragile budget.

Please help.  I already have a monkey contracted to do the work, but
he insists on making it look like a banana and I really want a torpedo
shape.

> I guess these rocket surgeons never heard of a zip gun powered by match

A zip gun powered by match heads?  Methinks you watch too much
MacGyver (a show that was produced in Canada, BTW).

> Outlaw antennae, rubber bands, nails, door hinges and matches.

And don't forget the fully-automatic version, available at a black
market near you.

I would have to take exception to that statement... I have seen no
indication whatsoever that Greg is a faggot... (Not that I want to see
any either)... As far as for the rest of your adjectives .... Well
.... he's probably not 'perfect' .... at best, probably 'nearly
perfect'...

Hmmm... I forgot about that... Still, it's possible that there might
be *one* person out there who likes quiche and isn't gay... Maybe
Greg's that person?

Circumstantial evidence, perhaps?

The defense's case doesn't look that good... Oh well...

C'mon. I know plenty of guys who aren't gay, and aren't afraid to
admit they like quiche. Of course I'll bet if we looked around we
could surely find more than a few gay fellers who carry a concealed
handgun.

The troops got  their money, Obama and Hillary were finally exposed for who
and what they are, and, as an added bonus, Obama got bitch slapped by McCain
for running his lefty suck when he should have shut up.

Nawh, for that [being born in SF] to be the case, there would have to
be some heterosexuals in there [SF]... They weren't doing artificial
insemination back then, were they?

Sounds like a draft dodger, hey?

> Sounds like a draft dodger, hey?

He was 10 in 1968, 17 in 1975 according to Wikipedia.  But his British
mother apparently predicted the war by moving him when he was 2, back
to merry old England after his American father died.  The war was over
by the time he returned to go to Harvard, so unlike most of the U.S.
Republican party, he didn't even have to get an educational deferment
to dodge the war.

Goes to show how useless an education can be with the right person, that
a Harvard magna cum laude does not bestow any sense, and that the
people of Toronto  are either stupid to vote for the guy or they got gypped.

Other than that...

I hope you have a good wine for that, none of that screw top stuff, you
know, like trailer stuff.
Wait, does my travel trailer count as "Trailer Park"? I better

We dont waste good ribs on rotten grape juice.

We use beer and tequila.
