What you're referring to isn't Hip-Hop, it's "gangsta rap". Many "gangsta's" refer to it as
Hip-Hop, but they couldn't be further from the truth.
Hip Hop is what DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince or Digital Underground used to create. It's got
a strong bass line, usually energetic music, a beat you can move to, and doesn't usually contain
*any* message.

disagrees!
"many of its songs depict wars and coup d' etats that in the end
overthrows the government."
"Yet rap plays the same role today as Bob Dylan did in 1960, giving
voice to the hopes and angers of a generation, and a lot of rap is
powerful writing.""
and hell:
" In 2005, a proposed plan by McDonalds, which would have paid rappers
to advertise McDonalds food in their music, was leaked to the press."
what a message that would have been
"Hey Mothafucker, who needs crack
Have some fries with your Big Mac!"

I'm not surprised.

Gangsta rap is a spinoff (bastardization?) of the original form. It's too bad really, because hip
hop was originally a very positive influence. I still associate Hip Hop with its original form.
