Just got home from a visit with John Hanson.

Talking with Lee, think we'll be fine confirming about a week in
advance.  I will be on a plan "B" already, on standby for the primary
weekend, but intend to make some arrangements that will allow me to meet you
and Dan.

Can I come?  I hear Florida has a lot of glory holes near the truck stops
and you know how much of a -sucker- I am for truckers.

This is getting surreal. I can no longer tell if we're reading posts
from the real Carl, Scott, or the ersatz ones. Good job guys. You've
successfully combined two distinct internet personae into a single
homogeneous entity. We may never again be certain who's saying what

The good diving in Florida is always anywhere from Palm Beach to the Dry
Tortugas, all on the Atlantic side.

Conditions anywhere in Florida are always less predictable than in most
of the world's dive destinations, that's why Florida is not as popular
as others. The locals just go diving and take whatever they get -
sometimes great, sometimes crappy. Conditions change from hour to hour,
and can be fabulous a few miles away from where they are awful.

During periods of heavy rain (June - Sept) runoff can leave a lot of
sediment in the water, on average viz is better in the winter. Storms
sometimes raise a lot of silt off the bottom, sometimes drive the Gulf
Stream in and create great viz. Thermoclines are greatest in June and
July, but occasionally pop up any time of year. Currents vary from mild
to wild.

There are all sorts of "current conditions" reports on the dive boats'
sites, and wave and water temp live from buouys along the coast. Don't
bother with them, as conditions will change from the time you leave yer
computer and arrive at the dive site.

If you absolutely positively must have warm water, great viz, and no
current on every dive, Florida is not a good destination for you. If you
enjoy huge biodiversity, if you get as excited by a cluster of bluebells
as you do by a flight of eagles, Florida is a wonderful place to dive.

If you are an experienced diver, you will want to avoid the cattle cars
of the Keys (There's great diving in the Keys, but few boats will take
you to it). Most of the boats elsewhere are just transportation to the
dive sites - you will schlepp your own gear, set it up, and do your own
dive in buddy pairs without a guide. The natives are friendly and will
usually let you tag along unless you are obviously a doofus. From Miami
north is all drift diving - each buddy pair or small group (or solo
diver) carries a float and goes with the current along the reef. There
is very little shore diving to be done.

Best part of all is we still have our freedoms and there isn't sh.t he and
all the hoplophobes can do about it in this life, except come here make an
a.s of himself and run off people who once respected him and called him

There are guns in the world, the Chinese and Sir Francis Bacon let that

Most of the world has evolved since those days. What's holding you
guys back?

In specific, to call you, on the subject of gun control debate, a world
class wind bag, and as was given to me as the perfect description, the BLACK
HOLE OF FIREARMS KNOWLEDGE, and on the matter of personal honor as has been
discussed here, a simpering, scurrying coward, and as a matter of Rec.scuban
credibility, lower than whaleshit, I'd say I speak for just about everybody.

I was personally amazed to find how many killfiles you were in, but for
the fact of comedy relief.

Anyone who wishes to abstain (who isn't a Canadian saving face), feel
free.

 I don't bluff.

 The list is readily apparent.

You long ago lost the right to make even the slightest demand.

 Nobody asked.

I've simply deemed it as Lord God and Ruler.

They always chime in on your side.

I'll gladly take mine, as you've previously assigned them, some just in
the last day or two.

And you get those you deserve as well.

If someone gave a sh.t, one would say "Make your case. You brought it, make
it."

But, as Dylan sung;

Too much of nothing
Can turn a man into a liar,
It can cause one man to sleep on nails
And another man to eat fire.
Ev'rybody's doin' somethin',
I heard it in a dream,
But when there's too much of nothing,
It just makes a fella mean.

Of course you would, and the sad thing is that you probably believe
everybody agrees.

Perhaps they were embarrassed at seeing you called out as a windbag so
often.  8)

It's just hot air then.

Doesn't seem to be working out for you then, does it?

Wow! I genuflect to your Monumentalness.

Really? The bells are pretty silent right now but we should get the
metoos chiming in here any time.

In yer dreams.

I've been very busy at work, and that means dealing with adults all
the time. I've missed this stuff. It's great for stress relief. Thanks
for playing.

Since JOF has been in my KF for quite some time, Doug is my
representative, how's that?  Means may not totally agree with every single
point, but he has my vote & overall support.  Got it?

He has become so desperate that he is trying to make it look like he is
controlling everyone.

Senility sure can be ugly.

Futile, ain't it?

Actually, no one else who knows Scott is having a problem.  I'm not sure
anyone knows Carl.  He's not brave enough to let that happen.

Actually, I know more than I ever wanted to about "Carl".

Same with Francis.

No sweat.  If it can't be that Sunday (06/24) I'll be in KL from 06/25 - 06/29. Perhaps
if Dan wants to dive with my group on one of those days, so can you/Lee etc.

I haven't been near the water for a few days, but it should be pretty good.
There's a tropical something up around Jacksonville that's moving out.  It's
been giving us offshore winds at 10 to 15 knots or more, but offshore winds
don't usually pose a diving problem, seas or visibility.  Perhaps OMG,
Bullshark or one other locals have a more recent idea of visibility at the
moment.

I looked at the marine forcast, http://www.wunderground.com/MAR/AM/651.html
, and it looks like the weather will be stable, even improving a bit.

Thanks.  Looks like I'll dive WPB tomorrow and head home Saturday.

Great, I'm sitting here typing messages to you while you're diving in my
back yard . . . well, 60 miles up the road from my back yard.

Hope you had fun.

It was awesome.  The DM was saying 50 feet of vis but that would be
from the surface looking down.  Horizontally, it was about 30 to 40
max.  Still good diving...and a good surface interval.  We saw two sea
turtles getting it on, on the surface as well as flying fish at that
time.
