I had the pleasure last weekend of visiting the new History of Diving
Museum at mm83 (Islamorada).

It was VERY well worth the time and money and no one with even the
slightest interest in history should miss it.

There was very little junk and the descriptions and placards were
surprizingly accurate.

They have two, count em two, Commeinhes rigs, a La prieur rig, a bunch
of WWI-era Draeger RBs and (kinda crappy) reproductions of an RD 1880s
reg, the original Guillaumet (1838)improved regulator, the Klingert rig,
and others.

They also have a surface supply dress that all who have critiqued my
patching must see.

The collection of hard hats is nice, 24 countries represented, lots of
home-made, a bunch of Miller-Dunns, USN and Russki helium hats, etc.
Also some one-atmosphere suits, including the Iron Mike.

You definitely should not get to the Keys without a visit to this
museum! Not open Mondays.

Cool. Had heard of it, but not been there. Hope to get a chance to visit.
Thanks for the report! Dan
