I've been watching as the EPIRBs keep getting more sophisticated and
smaller.  Now I see "personal" EPIRBs offered.  These are small enough to
wear on your life vest.  Since I kayak and sail small boats in the waters
off Oahu, I was thinking it might not be a bad idea to get one.  Does anyone
have any experience with them?

I have a PLB (personal locator beacon) that is GPS capable.  I use it
for flying in remote areas.  I think it is McMurdo.  No need to
activate it yet and hopefully never will.

I've hired them when hiking and blue water sailing, they're small and you
don't really notice them, I assume they work but hopefully never need to
find out.
