As for the flash, I think its serves 2 purposes:
1) Prevent most people from copying the videos
2) Puts all videos into one format, so no issues with codecs

$1.6 billion with a B. About .1% of Google's market cap. (I know,
not really that small, but not much dilution of the stock).
