much faster than the FVs.

Years ago (like the late 60's) we had a class that I believe was called
F4 running motorcycle engines on a lightweight open wheel chassis
mounted on Mini wheels. They looked like fun. I never got to drive one.
We were running a Cooper Deeker at the time. I was the pit crew. The
driver moved from there to Formula Ford and I went into motocross and
snowmobiles. He became the Canadian FF champion. I became a better
mechanic.

That reminds me. An acquaintance of mine worked for one of the FF
chassis builders in England for a summer years ago when he was still in
university. He got to race a Lola that summer. Great student
employment, huh?
