Hello
I was wondering about my certifications number. Will it change when I
go from fx OWD to AOWD or will I continue to have my number until i
become a instructor (I know they use a different number series).
Best regards

I can't say in re: OW --> AOW because my OW is from a different agency than
PADI. But I did get PADI AOW and then went on to get several speicalty ratings
from PADI including Nitrox, and all the cards have different cert #s.

You'll get a new number when you become a divemaster.

It only changes if you use a different currency to pay for it...

Not so. I did PADI advanced as a "refresher course" after a couple
years hiatus from diving, and did my drysuit training at the same time.
Got two cards for my effort, each with a different number on it...

My number changed. On a side note, I have the same coral scene on
both of my cards.

Be sure not to let the number of cards surpass the number of dives.

Hehe. I should have said more than 21 cards, too.

Yes, it will change. The number is automatically generated and,
through some formula that I am not privy to but am told exists, you
can determine when your PIC was received at PADI International.
