Opinion re:Cressi Archimedes II Computer Console

I just received the Cressi Archimedes II Computer Console (computer+psi
gauge) I had ordered.

Though the computer gives the depth reading, the Manual advises that
you have another depth gauge attached to your 1st stage, I guess in
case the battery dies out.

That will then add another hose for an SPG. Maybe I'd be better off
just getting an analog console with PSI,depth and a compass too. I
really don't need all the fancy electronics anyway and the thought of
being dependent on a battery and electronics makes me a bit uneasy to
begin with.

Any feedback will be appreciated. Can someone recommend a good compact
analog console?

Thanks,

A PSI gauge is a SPG.  No additional hoses required.

Feel free to ignore the recommendation for an additional depth gauge.  If
you can't, consider a Citizen Hyper Aqualand watch.  In addition to being a
good watch, they have a depth gauge, fast ascent alarm, water temperature
sensor and come with a download module.

I ended up returning it because it was way too complex for me at this
point.  I bought a Genesis analog set-up.

Coincidentally, I got the Citizen Hyper Aqualand but was too "much"
right now.  Do you know of any simpler watches which has a depth gauge?

Thanks,

Sy

Too complex???

Too "much"?  It merely adds a few basic dive functions to a regular watch.

Do you know how to tell time with a digital watch or do you still use analog
for that as well?  (Let's see, the little hand is on the 4, and the big hand
is on the 6.  That means it's ???)

My opinion of you remains the same.  Are you headed back to Puerto Rico
anytime soon?  I hear they have world-class diving.

Heh, heh, heh.  The HyperAqualand is digital.  He doesn't even need to
remember what the big and little hands do.

Lee,

I won't be posting here anymore.

ScubaBoard is much more informative.  Also, they don't allow dumb and
immature postings like you and your girlfriend Greg indulge in.

I'm not the one that finds watches too complex to use.

Enjoy ScubaBoard.  They don't allow posts like ours there.  We don't dive
with weenies like them here.  There's a place for everyone.  Glad you found
yours.

Just a parting clue since you find even the simple things in life to be so
difficult.  You don't need to send the same message to the same group twice.
Saying it once is enough . . . even on ScubaBoard.

Yeah, but he did invert the names when he answered you and Greg
individually.....he must be smarter than he's letting on.  ;0)

Happy hour!!!
Hey, don't knock it. I only know it's happy hour when Mickey's left hand is
on the 4 and his right on the 6.

Sounds lilke it.  Perhaps he should switch to something easier, like
walking, and forget the chewing gum part.

I like my Casio Divemaster.  It's only 8 or 9 years old and does
everything I want it to do.

That means the watch is broken.  Now if the little hand was half way
between the four and the five ...     :-)

I heard that somewhere before.  I just can't remember who told me
that, do you remember?

It doesn't get a whole lot simpler than the Citizen HA.  You go into the
water and it shows dive time, current depth and ascent rate.  You get out of
the water, it shows surface interval or time.  Load the software, put the
watch in a cradle and it'll download the dive.

Which part of all of this proved to be too tough?

Perhaps the actual putting the watch on?

Timex Helix DM (or is it DW?).  Good luck finding one though.  I *may* be
able to locate one or two if you're interested.  Plus, the price is right
(around $35).  I wouldn't recommend wearing it as your everyday watch
though.  Unfortunately it doesn't download to PC like the Citizen.
