I had not heard of any issues involving diving and how it affects the
lungs but apparently a study has been done.  Good news for anyone who
may have had any prior concerns.

I saw that same article and thought the same thing...I'd never heard
heard that there WAS any decline in lung function associated with diving...

I know that in my A&P class we found that smokers of the same gender
and approximate age had a lower FEV1 and reserve lung volume than
nonsmokers.

But smoking is a little different than inhaling air, even under
pressure.  Right?

But you're never breathing air under pressure, it's all at ambient.

Smoking does affect lung volume and your ability to evacuate as much
as possible.  It also affects your ability to use O2.

Depends where you get your air! I get mine over the internet for only .25 a
fill, it might not be clean but it's cheap.

Watch out for those pirated air fills.  You can get a virus.

Yeah, but what about brain capacity? Based on some of the posters
here, ya got to wonder. :-)

I agree, but for those in that category that immediately come to mind, I
have to wonder if they even dive at all, since they never post anything
about diving.  So that point, to a certain extent is moot.

LOL!!!    You beat me to the point.

Bob Crownfield comes to mind.   He has not dived in this millennium.
But he pops out to give his Laugh of the Day Award to other morons.

You can be SURE that you are NOT getting an award from him!
So, for your cited lines, I award you Laugh of the Week Medal.

Thanks for the laugh on my occasion drop-in to this group to
see what the current morons and members of the Dysfunctional
Gang are doing.

But I won't be watching their wimpy posts when they are sure to
follow-up this.    Bye.   I can hear them coming now ..
