John Hanson - 02 Jul 2006 03:13 GMT So, are you a machinist?
Anywho, my old man was one for nearly 40 years as were two of his brothers, one of which was a tool and die maker. Anyway, if you are, I'll bet you could bore the sh.t out of me talking about tenths, O.D., I.D., etc. I'm not giving you sh.t but reflecting on my childhood:-)
Jerome's Sock Puppet - 02 Jul 2006 06:01 GMT > I'll bet you could bore the sh.t out of me talking about tenths, O.D., > I.D., etc. You have no idea, babe. Not even a smidge of one. ;)

Scott - 02 Jul 2006 06:16 GMT > You have no idea, babe. Not even a smidge of one. ;) Sounds like he is already bored.
No need for me to intervene.

cavey_curtis@$$ yahoo.com - 02 Jul 2006 15:57 GMT > So, are you a machinist? machinists are a dime a dozen, much like a plumber.
Machinists have real value, much like a Plumber.
Gunsmiths are worth their weight in gold.
Scott - 02 Jul 2006 16:08 GMT > Gunsmiths are worth their weight in gold. The only thing cops like better than hookers is the guy that builds their guns...
cavey_curtis@$$ yahoo.com - 02 Jul 2006 16:13 GMT >> Gunsmiths are worth their weight in gold. > > The only thing cops like better than hookers is the guy that builds their > guns... So where do "Starbucks" amd "Dunkin Donut" enter the equation?

I dont know, there isnt one of either within 50 miles of here.
Grumman-581 - 02 Jul 2006 19:06 GMT > I dont know, there isnt one of either within 50 miles of here. Yeah, but there are other types of coffee shops on what appear to be every street corner around there... <grin>
Actually, you have quite a few Starbucks within 50 miles: http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypResults.py?stx=starbuck&stp=a&tab=B2C&city=Chehalis&sta te=WA&uzip=98532&country=us&msa=0000&slt=46.661438&sln=-122.961967&cs=4&Submit=S earch
Up in Centralia, about 6 miles from your house, you have a Starbucks and a Winchell's donut shop...

Hmmm... Surprise, surprise... Winchell's is located right down the street (8 blocks) from the Centralia Police Department... http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypMap.py?tuid=10591342&ck=702094804
So, which came first, the donut shop or the police station? Kind of a chicken and the egg type question, I guess... <snicker>
Scott - 02 Jul 2006 19:24 GMT I dont live there anymore.
=;-)
Grumman-581 - 02 Jul 2006 19:29 GMT > I dont live there anymore. Damn, am I always the last one to know? <grin>
Have your phone numbers changed also?
Email me the current info so that I can update my info in case I ever end up back in the area...
Scott - 02 Jul 2006 20:11 GMT > > I dont live there anymore. > [quoted text clipped - 4 lines] > Email me the current info so that I can update my info in case I ever > end up back in the area... mwheh.
let me know when you are heading out.
Grumman-581 - 02 Jul 2006 20:43 GMT > mwheh. > > let me know when you are heading out. Maybe next time it'll be in the summer so that instead of the water being " 'nad shriveling fuckin' cold", it'll only be "fuckin' cold"... Hmmm... How long before global warming makes the Puget Sound a warm water dive?
Scott - 02 Jul 2006 20:51 GMT > Maybe next time it'll be in the summer so that instead of the water > being " 'nad shriveling fuckin' cold", it'll only be "fuckin' cold"... It's good for you, builds character.

The top 20 has been around 60.

Oh yeah, you guys havea thermocline and not much actual exchange, over there. At Titlow and Cove 2, there is so much exchange that there isn't a noticible thermocline and its been pretty much 45-47 all the way down.

So I suppose drysuits and hoods are the order of the day if we come out for a visit? Sounds about like conditions in parts of the Great Lakes, only with salt and octopussies.

Let us know. We're hoping to dive here with a few other midwesterners in October as well.

John Hanson - 02 Jul 2006 19:20 GMT >> So, are you a machinist? > [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > > Gunsmiths are worth their weight in gold. My dad and my two uncles all worked at Waterous at one time. They made water pumps for fire engines and other things like the pumps that pump all the water out of the water towers next to the launch pads at Kennedy. They pump 1 million gallons per minute. The pumps drain the towers in something like 20 seconds. They dump it on the concrete launch pads on takeoff to keep them from exploding from the heat of the engines.

They pump 1 million gallons per minute. That would make for a *serious* pool pump... One that Tim Allen could even be proud of...

Jayna's Beretta has been at the "gunsmith's" for months now and, as far as I know, he hasn't touched it yet. So far, the work he's done has been done well. It's getting him to do it in the first place that's the problem.
