It's scary when the experts say the same thing as I did.  I have hopes that,
with the increased rain in the state, the alligators will be moving back to
more traditional territories, but there are no guarantees.  Mating season
may well prevent that and, of course, be followed by the birth and short
term protection of young gators.

The alligator population in Florida is quite healthy, perhaps too healthy
for the human population they share the state with.

Grumman, now you don't have to come all the way to Florida to get a gator
for your pond.  Alabama now has a gator season too.

I even got a postcard for it.  You can get a permit for only $1,021.50 (If
you're out of state, locals pay a lot less) as they say:
"Try this thrilling, hands-on, face-to-face hunting experience."
