Has anyone joined the PADI Dive Society and used any of the equipment
promos/rebates?

Put Another Dollar In Society is just that.  Put more money in PADI's
coffers. Some comes from the advertisers in their shoddy rag and other
comes from the people silly enough to send in dues.

PADI members get the membership free.  The magazine is annoying and
I've not found a single benefit that had any value.

I get it for free and haven't gotten my money's worth out of it.

Yes, three years ago I got $100 rebate on a new Oceanic Omega Regulator ordered through my dive shop. In the past 4 years, I have used their coupons for free night dives and extra two tank dives at various operators such as Habitat in Bonaire and Ocean Frontiers in Grand Cayman. I also did one of their PADI weeks at Sunset House in Grand Cayman, which came at a good price but had to have the membership to qualify for the price. Got a couple of other perks at other times and other places that I happened to be - like a safety sausage for free in Florida. At $25 US a year, it depends on how much diving you do and where as to whether it is worth you while in any given year.

But then again, what do I know?
