Still available in clear and black... Haven't seen any other colors
lately...
I don't remember when the first starting making them though... I reading an
article back in the early 1980s that talked about them... Basically, they
were so expensive at that time that very few people actually used them...
Back then, I had one of the old 3-pane black rubber with stainless steel rim
type masks... Don't remember what ever happened to that mask... Probably got
lost when I was being transferred from one base to another way back then...
It probably leaked the least of any mask that I ever owned...

I still have 2 or 3 of those. US Divers I think. Rubber's pretty
rotten. They were great masks, didn't leak, and had a nice
purge. Also very high volume.

Sounds about right... I tended to have a lot of US Divers equipment back
then... Even the old US Divers knife...

I can remember me and a couple of buddies in the barrack with a couple of
6-packs trying to learn how to throw that knife... From around 15-20 ft
away, it would go through a 3/4" piece of plywood... Then again, even if you
hit it with the handle end, it would nearly go through... I suspect there
were a couple of pounds of lead that I didn't need to carry when I had it...
