Not Happy Holidays

I want to extend to all ( and I mean ALL (not just my arguing buds) a
very MERRY XMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.  I may be off for a few days and
do not know what my connectivity will be. My daughter and son had a
tragic death with one of their friends - 21st birthday - 21 shots, we
must travel to attend the wake - but I am also experiencing the 1st XMAS
of two grandchildren ( 3 months, 1 1/2 months)so while one family
suffers a tragic loss- I celebrate the holidays with two more additions)

Hope all is well with everyone!

Merry Christmas Joe!

Sorry to hear of the tragedy, that kind of loss always sucks.

May the blessings of the Christmas season find you, yours and your
grandchildren fat, happy and full.

Dig the babies, I got to meet my 1st grandson last Christmas, and little
ones are what Christmas is all about.

C'mon Don. Lighten up. It's Christmas and Joe was being nice. If you
meant what you said about caring about the real meaning of Christmas
then cut him some slack.

I agree with you about the X thing, but we're in the minority. A lot
of good well-meaning people use that same X and don't mean any less by
it than you or me.

Merry Christmas, Don

Jesus wasn't afraid to walk around unarmed, and look where it got him.  I'm
surprised the gun nuts care so much about the birth of a guy whom they would
term a coward.

Right.  I don't know about you, but I'd prefer not to end my life that way.
Glad to see you've seen the light.  Your NRA membership seems to have done
you some good.

Gun nuts are those that are so afraid that they feel the need to deny the
rights of others.

Jesus had bodyguards, 12 of them.

Are you sure Jesus was unarmed?  It seems to me that he was quite ready and
quite successful at defending others.  Seems I recall pictures of him
carrying a staff, which was one of the more effective weapons of his day.

No doubt Lee. This may be your best post to date. Had guns been more
available you think Jesus and his "posse" would have prefered a classic S&W
or gone the Glock 9mm route? Maybe Judas with a sawed off
shotgun?........Matthew with an Uzi?.  If only Jesus and his 12 gang bangers
had some heat they would have never hung his a.s up on a cross. Never!!!
Mother f.ck ........I get excited just thinkin about how that sh.t woulda
gone down. Showdown in Jerusalem!!!!! Fuckin Soohwheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!

It's the holiday season, Rath, time for lonely losers like you to commit
suicide.

 Seasons Greetings!

I appreciate your comments. These other faggits with their "Merry Christmas
to everyone" bullshit make me sick. I would'nt give you the satisfaction
though fat boy.  I on the other hand hope you live a long, long time. I get
great satisfaction knowing that every day when you wake up, you have to look
at that fat ugly face in the mirror.........go off to a pathetic
job..........and at the end of the day crawl into the sleeper of a truck and
look at some j.rk off magazine. Suicide? Your projecting there fat boy.
Don't ever think of it.............I'd be miserable knowing you got out
easy. Now you have yourself a good day fat boy. When you look in that mirror
in the morning..............Dont you even think about pulling that trigger.

Hard to say.  Personally, I think my Beretta 9mm is the best pistol I've
ever owned, but it's a bit large for concealed carry.  Then again, they wore
robes back then.  You could conceal a lot under a robe.  My .40 Glock is
both more popular and more effective as a personal defense weapon, but it's
no fun to shoot.

My best guess is that he would have carried neither.  Since he was all
powerful, he had much more effective defenses available.

His desciples, on the other hand, probably would have chosen to go armed.
Like us, they didn't have his options.

It's pretty easy to walk around unarmed when you know that the worst that

I don't get that option.  We feed breakfast to anywhere from 30 to 50
friends every Christmas morning.

Well, that's understandable since you belong to a boat club full of partying
folks.

I used to volunteer and cook Sunday morning breakfast, and Christmas
breakfast, for the VFW hall I belonged to, and breakfast was always preceded
by bloody Mary's.

[quoted text clipped - 7 lines]

While quite a few boat club members are included, this is not a boat club
thing.  It started long before we joined the club.  We've been doing them
almost as long as we've been together.  Years ago, we realized that several
of our friends had no local family.  We could not imagine spending Christmas
morning alone and didn't want our friend to have to experience it.  So we
started inviting them to our home for breakfast, first a few, then a few
more.  The event is not obligatory.  People get invited because they are
welcome.  If they have other things to do, they are encouraged to do them.
This is for those who don't have family to spend the time with. who enjoy
spending the time with us and who we enjoy spending time with.  Eventually,
the event built to the 50 or so we had over a few years ago.  The food has
never been a problem.  With a little planning it's as easy to cook for 50 as
it is for a dozen.  The problem is space.  You need space to eat, even if
you eat while standing.  Over the last few years, we've let attrition reduce
the number back to a more manageable 30 or so.  Now that I doubled the size
of the roof over the patio, we can handle a more.  The list is, growing
again and, if we keep on doing this, will stabilize at some number that is
workable.

Occasionally.  Most of our black friends have relatively large families,
usually including a fair number of children.  Over the years, several of
them who, for one reason or another, could not be with their families have
attended.  I don't know if any of them will attend this year or not.  It's
an invitation, not an obligation.

How many black people are you planning to have over on Christmas morning?

Cool.

My mom and I both dont care much for ham.

My grandma used to send us these 20# spiral cut hams every year.

We started taking them to the local women and childrens shelter.

Now we buy an extra turkey for the smoker, and make a 10 pound wad of cookie
dough to give them every year.

He sits in the corner of old beggar's bush
On top of an old packing crate
he has three wooden dolls that can dance and can sing
And he croons with a smile on his face

Chorus

Come day, go day
Wish in my heart it were Sunday
Drinking buttermilk thru the week
Whiskey on a Sunday
