Here's an article on scuba diving in the Florida Keys which as many of you
know, is one of the best dive destinations within North America;

Thank you for that commercial. I will be sure to index it in my filing
system with the proper value.

The article wasn't meant to be a commercial - it's just my opinion and
thoughts about diving in the Florida Keys.  I would have thought that some
divers out there would appreciate the info.  And no, I do not live there -
I'm based in Canada.

You can also do some great diving without leaving the US in Puerto Rico,
the Virgin Islands, Massachusetts, California, North Carolina, Texas,
Hawaii and the local quarry.

Washington, and Puget Sound in particular, blows all that off the map.

Almost as good as NW Florida, but not quite.   ;-)

Come up and see for yourself.

Last time I was out there, in early august, went salmon fishing, out of
the mouth of the Columbia.  We chilled our beer by tossing it overboard tied
to a stringer.  Send pictures.  I'm a tad tougher than most of the FL boys,
but I'm still a WWW.

Another fine article Clint.  Keep em coming.

Which contains the following statement:

"The one aspect about scuba diving in the Florida Keys that some divers
may not like is that the dives are not guided by divemasters from the
various scuba operators."

Seems that Clint's a comedian, too.

No, I didn't mean to be funny at all with that statement.  I noticed that
some divers prefer to be in groups where a local divemaster will lead the
dives.  These are divers who don't want to worry about navigation and
finding the boat.  I'm just pointing out all the factors about the Keys for
diving.  I would have thought that this point is something worthwhile to
know about if traveling to the Keys for diving.

Hopefully that means that you're starting to catch on to a few things.
How long have you been certified, son?

Congratulations.  Perhaps you'll also soon note which types of divers
have this particular preference:  do you think that it is a trait
amongst divers who received inferior training, of rank novices, or of
most confined-water Texas Lake Divers?

> I'm just pointing out all the factors about the Keys for diving.

Don't flatter yourself by thinking that you've covered "...all the
factors about the Keys for diving."  Not by a long shot.

What about diving from moored dives in currents, general reef depths of
the mainstream tourist sites, overdived sites, and FL Keys diveshop
policies for credentials for diving wrecks that are deeper than 60fsw
such as the Duane and Bibb?  And so on.

It might have been useful if you would have named the specific dive
operation(s) who has which rule regarding unsupervised buddy teams -vs-
supervised (aka DM Lead) dives...that way, those dive consumers who have
a preference actually have useful information to select a dive operator
from.

Instead, all you did was to point out something that most non-novice
divers already know.  But hey - its your website, so if you want to put
up misleadingly incomplete advice, its your right to do so.

 You misspelled "incompetent".
