About 10-11 years ago I got a good deal on Seapro gear, which I still
have and use. I've always been curious as to how good this gear is.
Someone told me that Seapro uses various components in it's gear that
it copies from other manufacturers.
Thanks!!

I don't know anything about, and have never seen, any Seapro gear.
But if you're still using it after 10-11 years, I'd say the question of
it's quality has already been answered.

Although I've had it for 10-11 years, I haven't used it every year.
I'd say I have about 50 dives with it. How long does gear usually last
with regular servicing?

I've got a snorkel that is 25+ years old and is as good / useful today as it
was when I bought it...
I've got tanks that have original hydro dates of 1970 and I still use 'em...
I've got lead weights that should still be perfectly good 100+ years from
now...
My *newest* regulator is probably 5 years old, but I usually dive with the
older ones...

Quality gear can last almost indefinately.
Most active divers, however (except Dan Bracuk, of course) upgrade gear
every few years.
I have one major piece of gear, a wing (BC bladder) that has around 1000
dives on it.
700 or more on my fins.

I can top ya on the fins, but I've never had a bladder that the
patches didn't leak after a few hundred.
Maybe I'm using the wrong patches.

I've always said Sea Elite makes the best wing there is, my 1k dive wing
is being held hostage but is still perfectly servicable.
All you ever needed, however, was as ziplock sandwich bag for bouyancy.

Longer than many of the people here have been diving.

It's excellent. We know one person who's been using it for, oh, 10 or 11
years.

Back in the 80s they were a fairly innovative company that
brought out equipment that you either loved or hated! The
Seapro At-Pac was used by THOUSANDS of primarily NASDS
divers over the years and you still find the shot boxes in
some old time dive shops. Then, due to a family break up and
a total change in management and ownership, they moved into
having "me too" style stuff made. They got into a big
lawsuit for selling stuff that they "OEM"ed for a biggie
and, as far as I know, they are no more than a briefcase
company anymore.
Just my $.02
