Hi all...
I just dove Haigh Quarry (about an hour from Chicago) for the first
time. I went for what I thought was a group dive, but I was wrong...I
was lucky to find a sympathetic buddy who went out with me between his
"real" dives.
I need a lot more practice, and I can see I'm not going to get it
without a regular buddy or two.
Is there anyone in or around Chicago in the same proverbial boat? I have
a car and will drive you anywhere you want to dive if you'll buddy up
with me.
I know I might have to wait til next spring...but I'm willing to go back
to the quarry tomorrow morning if there are any fast takers.

Can't tomorrow, but perhaps next week. I'm about an hour from Haigh
quarry. (I only dive there because it's the nearest water and good for
check dives and training).
Right now, it is as warm as it gets. Probably the best vis too.
Next spring it will be COLD below 20 feet until after Aug 1st. (did I
mention the thermocline at about 20 feet?)
Where are you? I'm near Valparaiso, IN.
Depending on the scheduling, I can always use an excuse to get we.
Email me (remove the "_remove" and we can see what's up.

Just wait a few months, you'll come to hate it. But you'll be hooked
and won't be able to leave.
