Karl was a top pledge collector for one of their charity events. Maybe he's looking for some help to win one of their currently running contests?
Inquiring minds want to know. Why, Priscilla . . .why do you want us to write to Karl?

We're the 2nd largest country in the world. We have 243 thousand kilometers of coastline and the world's largest supply of fresh water. There are innumerable fresh and salt water dive sites.
I'm in Victoria, BC.

:^) I don't care about *your* suff'rin. I do care that when *I* need to buy US dollars for my dive vacations, it will only cost *me* $1160 Cdn for $1000 US. I'll be really happy when it costs me $850. :^)

US dollar falls to 14-year low vs Canadian
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar, under selling pressure across the board, slipped to a fresh 14-year low against the Canadian dollar on Friday.
The U.S. dollar traded as low as C$1.1600, according to Reuters data, down 1 percent and below the previous 14-year trough of C$1.1620 plumbed last week.
Canadian economic growth data for July released earlier on Friday was largely in line with forecasts and didn't alter expectations that interest rates will rise in October.
Middle East accounts were noted sellers, said one trader in New York, and sell stops below C$1.1620 were triggered too.
The Canadian dollar has been the best performing major currency against the otherwise resilient greenback this year.

I don't claim to know much aboot these things but, currency values change mucho because of the currency markets. ie, people buy and sell currency based on confidence, and I'm sure, many other factors. But you knew that!

You must've caught earlier when I said I heard it was a 'massive' untapped resource. I love Ab. fer a lot of reasons, I'd love to be a res if they tap those reserves. They'll end up subsidising the frickin' frogs out east more than they will ever deserve. But what's new there?

I guess I'll just hang on to those loonies, twonies and twentoonies I had left over from my last trip up... maybe they'll buy enough US$ for a trip to cave country in 2 weeks.
