I keep seeing references to an "80/20" usually saying it's a bad idea.
Can someone shed some light on what an 80/20 is and why you would use it?

80/20 is 80% oxygen and 20% nitrogen. It is used as a decompression gas
instead of 100% oxygen by some divers. 80/20 can be used from 30 feet up,
whereas 100% can not be used below 20 feet. The reason that is a bad idea
is that if you are caught using it by the DIR crowd, you will forever be
labeled a "stroke." ;-)

80/20 is 80% oxygen, 20% nitrogen and is used as a deco gas. It is not
favored by the DIR crowd:

13.Only a card-carrying stroke would do somethng like this, and showing
up with 80/20 is no different than wearing a sign on your back saying
"I am a stroke, and have the papers to prove it". It announces to all
the world that you have no clue, kind of like wearing clip-on
suspenders or having dog dirt on your shoes.

It's usually called 20/80. It applies to projects. 20% of the work
gets done in 80% of the time.

I've usually heard it referred to as the 80/20 rule... 80% of the
reward/results come from 20% of the effort. It's something they taught us
in college to get better grades.
