Several days ago I accused you of sleeping on the hurricane season - I
hit send before I comprehended the entire message - I did not notice
that you were referring to So Fla - So sorry - I'll try not to let it

once again - a little premature.  I did. Hope all is well - it looks
like a fast developer.  My comments to Dave were made a week or so
before anything had shown up - be safe!

Zzzzzzzz, huh?....... wha?.........Katrina who?
No worries, not necessary, really.
I'm looking at the first feeder band out about four miles offshore, should
be here in about 20 mins.

Be there Saturday morning, daybreak, for the beach dive near your place.

Well, hopefully this'll at least bring some bugs in.
btw Curtis, thanks for the call today, I'll drop you a line soon.

   Sounds good.

We need to get Mike and Lee with 80s, you with your 120 and me with my
dub 80s and see who can stay down the longest sometime.......be more than
fair, same person to tank size ratios.   :-)

Yeah, except I'd say you might need to double some 120's to really keep it
in proportion.

Hey, when you're breaking, do you ask for tiles twice as think as everybody
else just because you're bigger?

OK, do they ask for tiles twice as thick?

Twice as thick as what? Each others?

Yeah.  After all, if Curtis gets to use bigger tanks than we do because he's
a bigger person, he/they should have to break bigger tiles because they're
bigger.  It's only fair.

Oh OK, I wasn't sure if I was missing something there. I mentioned his
competitors because he competes in a particular weight class (Heavyweight
IIRC) which means that none of us would even be close to him in a size class
(I'm staying away from weight because I think I'd be heavyweight in most
sports). So his analogy was pretty good in the first place......a little
unfair on *him* if anything. ;0)

I'm usually among an average of 2 that peg the scale at over 300, so
most are smaller, just most are far more experienced.  Since all three of
you can dwarf my 7 1/2 years, how about that angle?

No angles required.  Dive whatever makes the dive work.  There's never been
any other rule.

We all had best be careful or Bullshark will bring his wife along.  She
makes us all look like air hogs.

So, you're saying she makes you "stiff"?

I would never suggest such a thing in public.

That brought a memory of the Old Glory speedos that I didn't need.

I like that.  Was really hinting we get more than the 50 minute dive
time allowed.

Is that why you got those huge tanks?

I don't have huge tanks.  My largest tanks are my two HP 100s.  I got them
for deeper dives and because, at the time, Mike was using either 100s or
120s.  I don't recall which.  I have 6 Compact 80s, one standard 80 (my O2
tank), a 40 df deco tank and a 30 I carry on the boat.

Curtis had large tanks because he was diving deeper too.  He now uses twins
and, if I'm not mistaken, he sold his 120s to Dave.  I don't think I've seen
Dave dive them yet, but I could be wrong.

Rumor has it that Ms. Bullshark dives as long or longer on a 60 as we do on
an 80, but you know how rumors are.  I can tell you that I have not noticed
her heading for the surface any earlier than any of the rest of us.  The
regulars, Mike, Bullshark, Ms. Bullshark, Gary O and me, all get our money's
worth out of a tank of gas.

Sounds like Stardiver. She takes a little bitty tank and makes it last
all weekend. I swear the only time she uses air is when she's blowing
bubble rings.

I learned about the 100's the hard way. I almost strangled myself
trying to stay with you and Mike with my 80's the first time we dived
together. Actually they were your 80's now that I think about it.
Nobody told me you guys were using 100's and I didn't look close enuf
to tell the difference. I was really embarrassed when I had to surface
early because I was low on air after what seemed like hours of bottom
time. At least you let me off the hook afterwards and told me about
the 100's.

I remember thinking the same thing.......and not knowing they weren't on
80's.

You are not mistaken, you haven't seen me dive them yet. It's been a
while......the tanks are great though.

That would be correct.  My 125s are doubled for cave diving, way too big
for ocean use.  The HP 120s I had (ones I loaned Greg) are no longer in my
posession, I dive two sets of double AL80s now on my boat excursions.  No
longer own a single back gas tank, too happy with the doubles.

Someday you will rediscover the niceness of only one AL80. It makes you
feel almost naked. I like the wreck dives to 200+, but I love the reef,
wreck or river dives to 90 or less.

Be quite some time, the dub 80s I consider to be the nice little ones.
They disappear behind me when standing, overhead don with an 11 lb "V"
weight is a snap (on land, few boats have the room and are stable enough to
not endanger others).  Guess there's a reason I got the nick of "Magilla"?

No angle there bro. I've only been certed for 9 yrs, only diving for 11.

Just for the "ancients", the guys who started diving while I was still
in diapers.

Made up for it in intensity though.   ;-)
