I bought a Conshelf 14 rig for myself, and now my buddy (wife) wants
one too.  Anyone have an old rig laying around?  I would like one with
the Conshelf 14 1st & 2nd stage, compass, depth, SPG, octo, and BC
hose, but other configurations will work.

Thanks!

Hi Mike. I have a Conshelf 20.  I'm not sure why you list the Roman
numerals.  Did it appear that way on the 14 ??  I have the 1st and 2nd
stage hook with the Conshelf 20 primary reg but a Sherwood octo reg.
Are you saying that Conshelf made compasses and depth gauges too ??

Hi Salty!

I have seen Conshelf 14s with XIV and with 14.  I'm looking for both.

I am not saying that there is a Conshelf compass or depth gauge.  I'm
just looking for the whole rig, not just the regulators.

How much do you want for your rig?

Hi again Mike :)

Hmm. So they were manufactured with both the Roman numeral and the
'modern' number ??  That's odd.  How long was the Conshelf 14 on the
market ??  Can you give any info about the progression from the 14 that
you have to the 20 that I have ??  I haven't researched them.

Ahh... ok.  Well I'm not sure that I can help you but I have the
original Conshelf reg, hose and first stage but I don't have a Conshelf
octopus for it.  However, the Sherwood octopus that is on there is just
as old as the Conshelf 20.

I honestly never thought about selling it and that is because I never
thought anyone would want it. I almost threw the whole thing in the
trashcan a few years ago because I didn't consider selling it but I
decided to hold onto it.  Why are you looking for these... for their
antique value ??  I mean, they are so old that I'm not sure why someone
would want them except for the antique value because there are many
fine current/new regs that are on the market today.

Do you wanna make me an offer that I can't refuse ??  <evil grin>

Salty,

I'm not an expert on the Conshelf.  I have no idea how the Conshelf has
evolved over the years.  My limited research leads me to believe a used
Conshelf 14 is a good cheap reliable regulator.  It has stood the test
of time.

I'm looking for these because they're good regulators that won't change
next year and once I learn to rebuild them I won't have to worry about
the dealer not servicing them because they're last years design.  I
have a source for the rebuild kits so that's not an issue.  It's been
around for ages so I don't think they're going to change it anytime
soon.

I bought what I need from eBay, but I can use some spare parts.  I'll
give you $10 for the rig plus shipping.

Your life insurance is paid up I hope?

   Be honest.

Your real question is, "Does your next of kin have their retainer
filed?"

"honest" and "Greg" are mutually exclusive.

Oh, come on now.  My motivation was entirely pure.  I could have solicited a
probate retainer from his next of kin, something that obviously would have
paid off in the very near future, but I was trying to be nice.  If you'd
keep your mouth shut, I would recommend he talk to you about machining a
custom aluminum coffin.

Are you always thinking about the negative side of things?
